My Books and what you think?

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
if you’ve read my other questions you know i write books for a living. but i just want to know what you guys think of these two new idea i came up with while
1st story: Saw at a coffe shop a dad asked his son to pick up a fallen toy.
2nd story: saw a re-run of the apollo space mission

ok heres the idea… one is sort of gothic and other is not at all

the gothic one: it is a very queer story and i even think its weird. but it involves a man who thinks he is an angel from heaven. he states that god appeared to him while he was in jail for a car theft and told him to “use the young and pure souls to do away with the wicked” The man gos and uses children to kill for him. he promises these children openness in heaven and that they will live forever. the main charecter is one of these kids
2nd story: i know this is strane and i havent started writing it unlike the other story but here it goes. it starts off 30years in the future. the scientists have thought of a way to reach pluto. it has a spaceship that the goverment has worked on since technology was discovered. it has gigitons of propulsion and would make it to pluto approx. in 20 years. the astronauts go on this ship. they launch off to pluto. when they get past jupiter the communication is lost and the story then turns on the astronauts family on earth. then Nasa gets a message in the voice of the captain of the ship. it says in a fuzzy message that can barely be heard…we…chzchcz..we found.chzzzzzz….hea….chz ven. Nasa studies it and finds that it is close enough to be we found heaven. thats all for know i could go on and on.

just tell me what you think of each and which one is better and which one i should start first and any suggestions would help
Thanks so much, i already started writing the first idea and im not sure if i should portray the man as a cultist or like something else. yuo opened that up to me because you said “recruiting”

Software For Music On Hold

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
There are soft wares which are capable of playing on hold messages and music player on telephone. The software mixes and plays messages and music that will play to callers while they are on-hold or being transferred.

The benefits of using a computer are automation of the system like for example date sensitive messages and great user control applications. By using on hold software we get complete control over messages. Also one can have access to state of the art features that have never been available on hold before. In case a studio produces the messages then the presentation can be updated over the Internet also.

The software can be installed on any Windows machine. This connects the computer’s sound out socket to the music on hold port on the office’s phone system. The software mixes and plays messages on hold using the computer’s idle time. Another benefit is that no special hardware is needed and one can continue to use the machine as normal. If the owner has a windows machine in the office then the soft wares available in the market are most affordable way of playing on hold messages to the callers when they are on hold or being transferred among different departments.

The features of these software’s are that they are real time mixing of on hold messages and music to create an endless presentation. Also they are capable of message scheduling to commence and expire on certain dates and to play only on certain days of the week or times of day. The software’s are fully digital audio ensuring that your messages sound good, are clear and are easy to listen to.

They offer almost unlimited message and music capacity. The state of the art of fuzzy logic formula achieves the optimal message on hold rotation rate. A direct user can easily have control over messages and message time table. The software are capable of being used with professionally recorded messages sent to the user by a studio by email or by compact disc or through automatic online updates through internet.

The messages which we want to be played when caller is kept on hold can also be recorded directly on computer by plugging in a microphone. The voice can be synthesized to speech from text by use of voice synthesizer. The music on hold software is capable of working well with all the telephone systems like the intercom systems etc. Also with message or music on hold feature the software’s, and can also work directly with voice over internet protocol phones used in the business.

The software for music on hold come packaged with music and professionally recorded general messages. If the software has been downloaded once the downloaded file automatically setups the software.

What’s your view on the market?

Thursday, November 13th, 2008
Chris C asked:

I mean in terms of predictability and ‘understandability’.
My mood is actually against EMH, pure randomness, quantum logic, Brownian motion, random walk, Benouli trials and such things - as with all due my respect, the logic behind Prof. Fama’s arguments is pretty flawed. He assumes a world where all investors use some magical “fortunes formula” - and just because everyone uses this formula - it’s no longer a fortunes formula. It’s like if someone discovers a formula to make gold - if he keeps it on his own - voila. If he sends email to CNN about it - the gold is now useless…as cheap as water. In our world however, some investors will use funny technics such as “three white soldiers”, “heads and tails”…while others will rely on C++ neural networks and reasonably sounding concepts - the investors who rely on over(buying/selling) would theoretically be able to buy/sell from the participants who rely on other assumptions - that are not backed with decent logic.
So, the point is obvious: The market is like a game - the better sellers and the better buyers - win. It is unrealistic to assume such thing as EMH as not all investors use and interpret information the same way.
In my personal humble studies though, I was able to reach a certain predictability using neural networks with both linear and non-linear algroythms and with both Backprop and RBF algorythms. Not only that, but even ’simpler’ technical analysis methods proved to be very correct - such as the stochastic oscilator. Interesting point of course comes from the fact that while no technical indicator is 100% punctual - a good money management decision and risk aversity can theoretically produce extraordinary gains.
This is my belief currently, the quest for the fortunes formula doesn’t have to be addressed in some new totally unobserved future directions. The formula is already around! All you need to do is to complete the puzzle. In simple words: Use the power of technical analysis for predictability, use the power of quantitative analysis or money managment and use the power of fundamental analysis for reason and discipline. Combining all this would produce theoretically returns as high as 10000% yearly. Bad? So it’s like:

neural networks + kelly criterion + margin + compound interest + hedging + stocks + anti-non-market risk measures.

Fortunes formula with simple addition… ;).

The market??? To quote the man who proved Einstein wrong(Niels Borh): “Prediction is hard - especially on the future” - hard…but NOT impossible. And to quote Hegel: “The only thing we have learnt from history is that we haven’t learnt anything” - speaking of how some good concepts lie around and people are not ready to use them…for some reason.

Thanks
