I just purchased a new samsung lcd tv, and the picture is fuzzy even when using a dvd player. I have tried composite, component, s, and hdmi connections. I have also tried to hook up a playstation 3 using an hdmi connection, and according to the salesperson, the picture should be crystal clear with the ps3’s blue ray technology. I am an aircraft mechanic and an engineering student, so I have no trouble rigging up electronics. The Picture is just absolutely crappy with zero change regardless of the connection that I use. The tv is also supposed to have an atsc tuner built in. Is it at all possible that the picture is so lousy beacause the tv is a 720p? Once again, I was told by the salespeople that 720 is still high def, and the picture should be wonderful. Any insight you could offer me would be great! The tv model # from samsung is LN-S4041D. Any help you all can offer would be greatly appreciated. If you need to go intogreta detail about what is wrong, I will post my email.

A friend recently showed off his High Definition TV to me, and I noticed that in ’standard’ mode, the image was kinda fuzzy. So when I went home, I looked carefully at my standard 27″ TV. I could see the hairs on the actors’ hair just fine. So what’s up with this ‘HD” technology that’s supposed to be so great? I didn’t notice any great difference! Are we being suckered into buying $2000 TV’s when a $100 TV is just as good???
