Here in India I have cable connection. It is way cheaper compared to DTH and other satellite technologies. A problem encountered is described here: Many channels on this cable connection come clear and with nice voice quality. And always so. But others are not. Bad ones - i.e. channels - are fine for twenty minutes and then suddenly blurred/fuzzy and suddenly black and white and with very unclear voice. Flip through some channels and come back and now the same channel is fine again but only for few minutes. What is it? Some thing wrong with my TV or cable?

If you watch your normal shows on TV, the quality of the print is excellent.
But there are those daytime TV shows (yes, those soap operas that have 15 minutes of pensive stares into the distance) that are from America (I live in Australia) that look like they were filmed using a camera made in 80s and the pristine and the film looks… odd.
It’s not old shows. I know for a fact that these shows are very recent.
And I’m confused.
Does it have something to do with the signal? The technology used to film it?
